Day 1Puno - Uros Floating Islands - Amantani Island Homestay

Your two-day Lake Titicaca tour begins with an early morning pickup from your Puno hotel at 8:00 AM. From there, our guide will escort you to the dock where your boat awaits. The first leg of your journey will take you to the Uros Floating Islands. They are a mere half-hour ride from the mainland.

As we glide towards Uros, you will begin to see the extraordinary sight of these islands rising from the lake. On arrival, local islanders will welcome you warmly. Your tour guide, well-versed in local culture and customs, will share interesting information about the islands’ construction and maintenance.

During your exploration of the Uros Floating Islands, you’ll have an optional opportunity to board a traditional Totora reed boat. The families on the island operate this. This unique experience comes with a small additional cost, which you will pay directly to the local families.

Later in the afternoon, we will set sail for Amantani Island. It is a place of higher altitude and home to indigenous Quechua-speaking communities. This island is about a two-hour boat ride from Uros. As we disembark, local families will greet us and invite us into their homes for a distinctive homestay experience.

In the evening, you will hike to the peaks of Pachatata and Pachamama, offering panoramic views of the setting sun.
