After approximately two hours of travel, we arrive in the village of Cusipata, where you can enjoy a warm Andean breakfast. This stop allows travelers to relax and prepare for the hike ahead while taking in the peaceful mountain surroundings. After breakfast, we continue our journey deeper into the Andes, driving through remote landscapes surrounded by towering peaks and vast valleys. 

As we approach the trailhead, the scenery becomes more dramatic, with herds of alpacas and llamas grazing across the high plains and the magnificent Ausangate Mountain appearing in the distance. Ausangate is the highest peak in the Cusco region and is considered sacred by local communities.

Once we reach the starting point of the hike to Rainbow Mountain, your guide will provide a brief orientation and offer recommendations for walking at high altitudes. The trail gradually ascends through the Andean countryside, offering spectacular views throughout the journey.

Return to Cusco
